Collaboration is key, especially when it comes to breakthrough innovations at PACCOR. Our goal is to develop circular solutions that deliver economic value to all parties in the value chain, starting with inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, marketing, and sales, and finishing with services. Therefore, we partner with suppliers, waste recyclers, customers, and local sector associations.
Circular solutions are not just about new products – they are about systematic and fundamental changes. PACCOR has a clear view of what our customers and society will need and expect from us in the future. Therefore, we are actively looking for various collaborations with multiple forward-thinking partners. Furthermore, we take our innovations to the next level, by considering new business models in all areas.
Together with Digimarc Corporation, we developed a ground-breaking detecting tool that creates a unique identity in the physical structure of plastics. It is a tremendous progress in the recycling industry because it is now possible to differentiate between food and non-food packaging, as well as achieve high-quality sorting.
PACCOR is the first packaging manufacturer who managed to apply the Digimarc digital watermarking to commercially available rigid plastic packaging surfaces.
The Digimarc digital watermarking is engraved in the mold using ‘micro-topological variation’ and provides consumers and disposal companies with information about the respective packaging. For example, if during the sorting process, the packaging ends up in the residual waste zone by mistake, by scanning the digital watermark, the recycling plant is capable of correcting the error.
One of the main advantages of the Digimarc technology is that it can be extended imperceptibly over the entire label surface without interfering with the package design and can be scanned with smartphone cameras.
There are virtually unlimited codes that can be engraved and that are able to address major challenges such as:
"As a Digimarc partner, PACCOR looks forward to our continued cooperation to leveraging Digimarc’s technology to speed up the transition to a circular economy for plastics.”

Thanks to a cooperation between one of our partners from the airline industry and PACCOR, we were able to implement a closed loop system for rPET drinking cups used in the airline sector. It allows us to collect all the cups used during a flight, recycle them and reuse the material to create new rPET cups.
At the training centers with our suppliers, we implement a long-term improvement program aiming at optimizing the entire thermoforming process in our factories. From a thorough assessment of our operations to the effective training of our production team, this successful program is creating positive impacts for all employees.
Cooperation with one of our partners led to the introduction of 70% recycled polypropylene in one of their strongest branded products.
