Coveris has introduced a comprehensive new PET tumbler product series that addresses the growing demand for appealing and convenient to-go packaging made of recyclable material. The new PET products fulfil highest quality and safety standards, ensure optimal rigidity and allow perfect product presentation. Furthermore, they are available at short lead times due to Coveris comprehensive European footprint.
Early on, Coveris had recognized the consumer trend, which has led to increased demand among consumer goods manufacturers and food service providers for new packaging solutions. The Company therefore built a global offering for fresh food and convenient food packaging with a broad product portfolio as well as manufacturing facilities all over the world.
This year Coveris has made targeted investment in Holland, Poland, France and UK to strengthen its presence in Europe. Coveris invested for instance in a new Extrusion Thermoforming line in Poland and a new Thermoforming line in Holland. The Company doubled its capacity for PET tumblers and tomato glasses from 300mln to 600mln pieces per year by investing 4mln €.
Besides tumblers, the Group’s portfolio of sustainable PET products also comprises pots and lids of different sizes, styles and functions such as the handle pot. It is one of Coveris’ latest innovation which is a thermoformed PET bucket with integrated handles, enabling easy transport home or out-of-home while achieving 20% weight reduction versus existing similar injection moulded buckets.
